Restrict voice mail port 7 & 8 or 15 & 16.

Connect to
appropriate jacks, using 4-wire cord.

Set CO lines to
NORMAL (Programs 414, 415, 416). If you
set a line as DIL it will go directly to
voice mail and not ring at any other
station (you may want this at night).

Set Ringing
(Programs 408, 409, 410)

Set Delayed ringing
to give the user time to answer the call
before the VPS connects. (Programs 411,
412, 413)

Turn off the KX-TA

PROGRAMMING (you need laptop with
communications software)

Connect laptop and
start communication software

Set Dipswitches to
position 5 (1 Left, 2 Right, 3 Left, 4
Right)

Plug in TVS 50 and
wait for system initialization “System
Administration” on screen

Start up Completed.
Connection is made when system light
stops flashing and **ON LINE MODE **
is displayed

Go to System
Administration Top Menu and do Quick
Setup and follow automatic Configuration
Instructions. Set up or delete
mailboxes here.

TEST: Press
Intercom 165 and see if VPS answers.

Set Dipswitch
position to 0 (All switches to the
Right)

Set up port service
for day and night. Recommendation:
INCOMING SERVICE should be custom 1 and
INCOMING CALL SERVICE PROMPT should be
User 1.

Set up COS 1,
especially AUTHORIZATION FOR MESSAGE
NOTIFICATION, & MWL NOTIFICATION FOR
UNRECEIVED MESSAGE. These should both
be set to YES
